November 23, 2023 – Financial Literacy Month is in full swing, and it’s been an exciting time filled with special programs and even an acknowledgement on both CBC TV and CBC radio! Throughout this month, we’re highlighting the importance of financial health, and I take immense pride in our community efforts dedicated to fostering a financially capable generation.
Here are some of the great things we have going on:
Financial Literacy Programs
November 17– In collaboration with British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) and their dedicated volunteers, we hosted 36 Indigenous learners from the Sooke and Saanich School Districts at BCI’s head office in downtown Victoria for a day of learning that focused on spending, saving, budgeting and investing. More to come on this later!
November 23– Just this morning, we hosted a very informative financial services themed World of Choices program.
November 30– Educators can enrol in our Personal Budgeting Module.
On Demand– Educators can also enrol in the Introduction to Investing program.
Educator Conference
We were so pleased to be part of the Career Education Society (CES) Annual Fall Conference this week in Vancouver. The conference provides JABC with the opportunity to meet with educators and administrators from around B.C., provide valuable workshops, and showcase our programs.
I was the moderator for two very interesting workshops: The Future of Work and Knowing What Recruiters Look For. Check out our LinkedIn post for more information.
Also some other exciting announcements:
