April 3, 2024 – As we celebrate JABC Volunteer Appreciation Month, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our devoted JA volunteers. Your unwavering dedication opens doors of opportunity for youth across British Columbia. Whether in classrooms, at events, or in any other vital role, your commitment is priceless.
Be sure to stay tuned to our social media channels this month as we highlight some of our extraordinary volunteers. Follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and Instagram to discover their inspiring quotes about the transformative power of volunteering. Together, we can inspire others to join our mission and make a difference in the lives of B.C. youth.
I must also acknowledge the dedicated members who volunteer on the JABC Board of Directors: Paul Geyer, Keith Spencer, Olin Anton, Sandy Chan, Steve Banick, Curtis Campbell, Robyn Chisholm, Michael Cole, Abi Coman-Walker, Crystal Hung, Omar Ladak, Leslie Lee and Stephanie Van Eyk. I am grateful for the countless moments you dedicate to supporting JABC! View the JABC Board of Directors.
In addition to JABC Volunteer Appreciation Month, we also recognize National Volunteer Week from April 14 to 20, 2024. This year’s theme, “Every Moment Matters,” underscores the importance of every volunteer and the significant impact they make in their communities. Your contributions are invaluable in fostering thriving communities.
From our JABC TechWorks in-person program, Discovery Foundation’s Discover Your Pitch, to the prestigious BLBC Hall of Fame Gala, our spring calendar is filled with a multitude of engaging initiatives and experiences.
I’m also thrilled to announce that JA Worldwide has been nominated again for the Nobel Peace Prize, the third nomination in three years! We are proud to be a member of one of the world’s largest and most-impactful youth-serving nonprofits. JABC volunteers should take pride not only in their individual impact within the province, but also in the collective contribution we make together.
Please stay in touch with us, and thank you for your support!
