We’re currently recruiting two passionate and proactive leaders to help shape the JABC Alumni Community Association for the 2026–2027 term. These volunteer roles offer a unique opportunity to grow a vibrant alumni network that supports mentorship, professional development, and community impact across British Columbia.

President

1-year term (2026–2027)

The President leads and represents the Alumni Community Association, working with the JABC team to guide strategy, grow the network, and strengthen alumni engagement across B.C.

About the Role

  • Lead and represent the JABC Alumni Community Association and work closely with the JABC team
  • Serve as the principal liaison between the association, alumni, and JA. You will act as the main contact for Alumni Community Association
  • Use alumni management tools to communicate with JA alumni
  • Assist in recruitment and training of president-elect to ensure smooth transition at end-of-term
  • Represent the JABC Community Alumni Association on National Alumni Association meetings
  • Organize and lead regular Alumni Community Association meetings
  • Contribute to the development of the alumni network’s strategic plan, identifying key goals and priorities
  • Represent the alumni network at events and speaking opportunities
  • Organize and lead regional events, coordinate committee meetings, and drive the network’s growth (in consultation with JABC liason)
  • Serve as an ambassador on behalf of JABC and their alumni
  • Review and provide feedback on topics and development initiatives brought forward to the Alumni Community Association
  • Represent the interests of the members of the Alumni Network in decision-making spaces
  • Evaluate committee programs, projects, and events, and provide detailed progress reports as agreed with JABC

Requirements

  • Completed a JA Program
  • 18+ years old
  • Past involvement on an advisory committee or board is an asset
  • Passionate about community, entrepreneurship, and the JA mission
  • Experience leading and working with community organizations and volunteers
  • Key Skills: delegation, communication, leadership, initiative

Vice President

1-year term (2026–2027)

The Vice President supports the President and steps into leadership when needed, while helping ensure smooth operations and strong communication across the association.

About the Role

  • Step into the President’s leadership duties in the the event of temporary or permanent absence, until the end of term for the President
  • Support Alumni Community Association members in duties and responsibilities if applicable
  • Maintain association correspondence (including taking meeting minutes)
  • Serve as an ambassador on behalf of JABC and their alumni
  • Attend in-person and online events
  • Review and provide feedback on topics and development initiatives brought forward to the Alumni Community Association

Requirements

  • Completed a JA Program
  • 18+ years old
  • Past involvement on an advisory committee or board is an asset
  • Passionate about community, entrepreneurship, and JA’s mission & vision
  • Key Skills: ability to multi-task, quick learner, communication (written and verbal)

Commitment
