Message from our President and CEO

Message from our President and CEO

September 7, 2023– As the school year kicks off, I’m thrilled to share our latest student impact updates and unveil our new strategic plan called Boundless Possibilities: Unlocking the Potential of B.C. Youth.

Student Impact

Last school year, nearly 65,000 young people across urban, rural, and Indigenous communities in B.C. received the benefits of JA programs.

Two notable accomplishments included the return of in-person JABC TechWorks, following a two-year pause, and the remarkable growth of our initiatives within Indigenous communities.

This progress owes much to our committed network of volunteers and donors, whose unwavering support enabled our life-changing program deliveries.

Please check out our activities and achievements in our 2022-23 Year End Report.

New Strategic Plan

I’m also delighted to announce a significant milestone: the culmination of our five-year strategic plan, Bright Futures for all B.C.’s Youth. These past five years have been marked by incredible achievements and successes.

Our new strategic roadmap, Boundless Possibilities, has an ambitious goal for 100,000 B.C. youth to experience a JA program annually by fiscal year 2025-26. Our strategic priorities are to:

Accelerate digital

Empower the underserved

Cultivate partnerships

Cultivate OneJA

We will share more about our student impact and new plan with you in an upcoming communication.

Elevating our youth to become thriving community builders remains a collective endeavor, shaped by the dedication of donors, volunteers, and educators alike. I am consistently inspired by and grateful for the entire JABC community.

Thank you for your support!

Sheila
