September 4, 2019- Cadillac Fairview is supporting JABC as part of the 2019 Youth Philanthropy Program (YPP). Thanks to this support, JA British Columbia is able to address the growing demand for fundamental business and educational skills by expanding its education programs in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship across the province.
During the 2018/2019 school year, over 42,000 students in B.C. were given insight into the world of business and are now better prepared to contribute as leaders in their future workplaces and communities.
One of the programs supported by Cadillac Fairview was delivered at Lord Roberts Elementary in downtown Vancouver (School District 39). The program was hosted by teacher Kay Shetty and facilitated by volunteer Aditya Jay-Kumar. Students in grades 5 and 6 enjoyed the opportunity to develop new communication skills taught by Aditya, who is Director of Marketing at Momentum Marketing, and podcaster in his free time.
“This Our Business World program was made possible thanks to the generous donation from Cadillac Fairview. Students learned how to run a successful retail business of their own, in a fun way,” said Sheila Biggers, President and CEO, JA British Columbia.
