JA’s Be Entrepreneurial inspires students to explore entrepreneurship and imagine launching a business venture while still in school.
Through this interactive program, students identify target markets, analyze competitive advantages, and develop a business plan and strategy, gaining an understanding of the planning, problem-solving, and innovation involved in building a business.
At the end of the program, students put their learning into action through an in-class Business Pitch Competition. Working alone or in small groups, students prepare and deliver a short pitch on their business idea. JABC provides everything educators need to run the Business Pitch Competition as the final, summative piece of the program.
The journey doesn’t stop there! Students can take their business plan even further through Discover Your Pitch, where they utilize the skills they built in Be Entrepreneurial to pitch to a panel of top B.C. business leaders for a chance to win cash prizes.
Like other JA programs, Be Entrepreneurial is student-centered and skills-focused. Students who complete the program are also eligible for JABC and JA Canada awards and scholarships.
