Message from our President and CEO

.

April 2, 2025 –This JABC Volunteer Appreciation Month, we’re celebrating the incredible volunteers who make a lasting impact on youth across British Columbia. Your dedication—whether in classrooms or another important capacity—helps open doors. At a time when uncertainty and rapid change are shaping our world, your support provides stability, guidance, and inspiration for the next generation.

Stay connected with us on our social media channels (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and Instagram) throughout the month as we spotlight some of the inspiring individuals who bring JA programs to life!

A special thank you to our dedicated volunteers who serve on the JABC Board of Directors: Paul Geyer, Abi Coman-Walker, Sandy Chan, Emir Aboulhosn, Olin Anton, Steven Banick, Curtis Campbell, Robyn Chisholm, Michael Cole, Neil Henderson, Crystal Hung, Leslie Lee, Alison Oxtoby, and Selena Woo. Your leadership and commitment play a vital role in JABC’s success.

In addition to JABC Volunteer Appreciation Month, we also recognize National Volunteer Week from April 27 to May 3, 2025. This year’s theme, Volunteers Make Waves, highlights the power and impact of individual and collective volunteer efforts across Canada. Like a wave, volunteering builds momentum and drives meaningful change.

This year, JA Worldwide has once again been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize—an incredible recognition of the global impact made possible by our supporters. Each of you contributes to this incredible legacy, shaping the future for young people in B.C. and beyond.

Thank you for being part of the JABC community.

Wendi Campbell
