Vancouver, B.C.  October 30, 2025—   JA British Columbia is proud to announce it has been named Non-Profit of the Year at the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Business Distinction Awards. The event, held at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, celebrated organizations and leaders making an impact across six award categories.

The Non-Profit of the Year award recognizes a non-profit organization with charitable status that has demonstrated excellence in achieving its goals, volunteer engagement, stakeholder engagement and a plan for long-term sustainable growth. The judging panel faced a tough decision, and JABC is honoured to share this recognition with Take a Hike Foundation.

We also congratulate the other finalists — BC Centre for Ability, BC Parks Foundation, and Dan’s Legacy Foundation — for their incredible work supporting British Columbians and strengthening communities across the province.

This recognition is especially meaningful as JABC celebrates its 70th anniversary year in 2025, marking seven decades of empowering B.C. youth with the knowledge and confidence to manage their finances, explore entrepreneurship, and prepare for meaningful careers. Through free, hands-on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs, JABC helps young people develop the practical skills needed to succeed in today’s economy.

This recognition belongs to our incredible donors, volunteers, educators, partners, and staff—and to the students who remind us why this work matters,” says Wendi Campbell, JABC President and CEO. “At a time when many young Canadians face financial challenges and the careers of tomorrow are still being imagined, our work has never been more important.”

We are deeply grateful to the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade for hosting a wonderful evening and for recognizing the important role of non-profit organizations in building a stronger, more inclusive economy.

As we look ahead to the future, JABC remains committed to inspiring and preparing youth across British Columbia to thrive in a changing world.
