Community Futures Thompson Country and JABC are teaming up to help young entrepreneurs within Thompson Nicola Regional District gain a competitive advantage when preparing to enter the Junior Dragons Den competition. Led by Community Futures, Junior Dragons Den is open to students Grade 5 through to post-secondary. Top 15 qualifying young entrepreneurs pitch their business idea to a panel of “dragons”, in a live show format.

Modelled after CBC’s The Dragons’ Den, Junior Dragons Den, which started in the Kootenay-Boundary region 5 years ago, has now expanded throughout BC.

Teachers can enroll their class in JABC’s Be Entrepreneurial program where students will work with JABC volunteers from the business community to brainstorm and polish their business pitch.

Submissions are evaluated on finances, marketability, the service or product idea, and business concept plan presented. Registration for Junior Dragons Den is open now until February 8, 2019 and applications can apply via communityfutures/dragonsden.
