November 30, 2021- This Financial Literacy Month, the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC (CPABC) renewed their support of JA British Columbia (JABC). Their $25,000 commitment for 2021-22 will support JA Company Program and World of Choices. The Company Program provides students with real world business experience, while World of Choices brings students together with career mentors working in desired fields, industries and professions. As part of these programs, CPAs will be guest speakers to highlight the career opportunities in business and the various pathways open for CPAs.
CPABC has been supporting JABC for over 20 years. CPAs are highly regarded for their leadership in the field of accounting, their strategic insight in the boardrooms of top corporations and their guidance in government and public sector accounting. The knowledge and experience they are able to share with B.C.’s youth is valuable, as these students start out on their career journeys and learn about the CPA designation, a globally respected business and accounting designation.
“We are so grateful for the partnership of CPABC,” says Sheila Biggers, President and CEO of JABC. “We appreciate their long-standing commitment to JABC. Their leadership, support and volunteers help us make a significant impact on youth across the province.”
“Our decades-long support of Junior Achievement speaks to the quality of the programming,” says Lori Mathison, FCPA, FCGA, LLB, President and CEO of CPABC. “These programs provide critical career information and help our young people succeed, and our organization and CPA members are proud to partner with JA and work with these future leaders.”
