September 3, 2024- We’re proud to provide programs tailored to Indigenous youth, celebrating their unique backgrounds and experiences. Exciting news—our Indigenous Communities Program Team is expanding!

Working with Kimberly Sommer, Program Director, we welcome Jacqueline Bay and Diana James as Program Managers, and Stacy Russ-Townsend as Program Coordinator.

Jacqueline Bay
As Program Manager for the JA Company Program for Indigenous Learners, Jacqueline Bay will lead as facilitator and coordinator. Jacqueline brings over 30 years of educational experience, with expertise in leadership, communication, and community collaboration. Moreover, as member of the Saulteau First Nations, Jacqueline is passionate about enriching Indigenous communities through safe, empowering educational programs. She holds a Provincial Instructors Diploma and a Master’s in Leadership from Trinity Western University.

Diana James
As Program Manager, Indigenous Communities, Diana James will oversee volunteer-led programs within the Indigenous Communities department. Diana, who is Métis, brings 11 years of office management experience to her new role. Her commitment to supporting Indigenous youth and her organizational skills will ensure the smooth coordination of programs and volunteer involvement. Diana’s background and dedication will be vital to the success of our team’s initiatives.

Stacy Russ-Townsend
Stacy Russ-Townsend joins our Indigenous Communities team as Program Coordinator. Originally from Kincolith, BC, and raised in Prince Rupert, Stacy now resides in Nanaimo. Furthermore, Stacy’s background in First Nations Studies from UNBC has prepared her to manage teacher-led and student-directed programs. Her diverse experience will be instrumental in supporting the coordination of our programs for Indigenous youth.
