A World of Opportunities

JA British Columbia is proud to deliver unique and culturally inclusive educational experiences to Indigenous learners aged 5-29 across the province. Both in school and outside of school, our free programs in work readiness, financial health, and entrepreneurship equip young people with the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities.

Indigenous youth represent one of the fastest-growing demographics in British Columbia. For the past five years, JABC has collaborated with Indigenous classrooms and communities, engaging Indigenous leaders and role models to enhance educational experiences and recognizing and addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by Indigenous youth.

We are committed to creating meaningful relationships with Indigenous learners, communities, and organizations across British Columbia.

Enrol Your Class

Are you part of an Indigenous Advisory Council, First Nations school, or run a career or business club? Enrol in a JA experience! Our programs are thoughtfully adapted for the unique backgrounds and experiences of Indigenous youth.

Enrol in JA Company Program for Indigenous Learners

Offered both in school and after school, this experience inspires students to create and operate their own business ventures while developing leadership, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.

Volunteer

We invite facilitators from First Nations communities to help deliver programs in work readiness, financial health, and entrepreneurship. Indigenous leaders inspire youth by sharing their experiences and cultural perspectives in JA programs.

Donate

All JA programs are free thanks to our generous donors and sponsors. Make an investment to bring more JA programs to B.C. Indigenous communities to demonstrate support for B.C.’s Indigenous peoples and Truth and Reconciliation.

JABC is committed to creating meaningful relationships with Indigenous learners, communities and organizations across British Columbia.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s report outlines several calls to action under Education, which includes providing culturally appropriate programming and increasing accessibility to programming that can address gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners.

We are doing this by building relationships with First Nations communities, working with them to adapt our programs so they are culturally appropriate, and engaging volunteers from these communities to deliver the programs.

“Our Grade 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 classes had such a blast with JA this year!  These programs were very impactful, impressive, and so well organized that the students really enjoyed themselves. I am really looking forward to working with JA next year and diving deeper into these programs, hopefully in person!”
