Meet alumna Christina Dhesi, Executive Director for the Appraisal Institute of Canada- BC Association
Christina, from Vancouver Island, says it was a JA program in 1998 that inspired her to work in business. “I do know that the concepts discussed in the classroom sparked my interest in business, so much so that I held onto my completion certificate for over 20 years! [I appreciated the time the volunteers took] to share their business experiences and help students develop their own problem solving and decision making skills… these life skills learned in JA programs are equally important to the technical knowledge obtained from traditional academics.”
Christina is now a volunteer with JA, facilitating programs on Vancouver Island. Her advice to young people: “Remember that there are many people who want the same opportunity as you. Mentor under those who have mastered their craft and volunteer your time with organizations to build your network and skills.”
Thank you Christina for giving back to JA!
